I Wish I had Wings

July 7, 2007

A very common way of relaxation that most IT crowd seek is either go out for malls n Shopping (the feminine lot) or else shake a leg at the pub , freak out with friends and get drenched in booze on a late night (mostly the masculine lot). This is how the most highly paid and most stressed people de-stress themselves. As i sit in my chair on a warm Saturday afternoon, I hear ppl around speak about going to Forum or lazing around just not knowing what to do on a weekend .I become nostalgic about the Kavaralli hills that i trekked last weekend. An abode of peace and pleasure. I had a seasonal trekker and a group of ppl who accompanied us to the top of the hillock. At an alitude of 1500ft above sea level and winds blowing at nearly 50km/hr on the peak ………Wow that was definitely a moment to rejoice….It requires a sound judgement and equally good startegy in order to go up or down the hill in the fastest and smoothest way possible. At times i wonder, how ‘eyes’, God’s best creation capture a view, wide enough to see the surrounding hills, pass and a neighbouring lake too. Ummm.. I refreshed my geographical knowledge too.On the top stood a small man made temple for ppl to take shelter,if they cant withstand the winds.I ,like a mighty ruler on the earth climbed on the small rock and opened my arms wide to give a rather strong hug to the Wind God:)I felt like a fresh flower just blossomed, once back from the trek, although body aches have started to take over me, but mentally i was charged up and game for more challenges.I suggest my counterparts of the IT industry to be more creative and innovative when it comes to spending a weekend rather than empty their pockets.

  1. WOW!

What a great way to chill out at the weekend after a brain storming weeks work! I can feel the wind as I go along in your blog. Hope your aches are now ok!! and you are charged up another try soon some time.

And creative and innovtive.. how about a lone walk with a softdrink tin in hand and the same old words with a pal on the phone.. is it not cool and creative.

Chill out have fun in your own ways..

  2. Well i feel there is nothing Creative and innovative in a lone walk and talk same old words to a distant pal.It just releases the mental pressure and helps maintaining relationships.
    But where creation and innovation!!!!!!

  3. Thats the whole point in it, feel free of the pressures…..you trek, I walk..
People do it and I never did bother why, but I do it because that’s the way I do it. ;) , especially when the entire week is planned and you just cant take enough time to…………

  6. The best way to find peace as far i think is to spend time on hobbies…u try to put all what u wont be expressing when u r in a group..Ofcourse there are instances…

Kavaralli Hills ;-) i heard it for 1st time. Is this a nice spot for wild life photography ?

  7. @Ashutosh:
Hmmmm… If only you took out time from ur LINUX and ATLANTIS, then will u know the outside world.

The outskirts of Blore are very famous trekking destinations like Ramgadh[along side mysore road],Nandi hills etc.

Kavaralli mein koi jantu jaanwar nahi. its just on a high altitude where u can feel the clouds. On Ramgadh u do have. I saw a bear last time.

  8. ya i think i have to do so…have to sense some thing out of computers.
in fact i do but not much exposure though..
